Review of The Prince: A Novella

The Prince

The Prince by Kiera Cass is short story that isn’t really part of the Selection. Well technically it is – it’s just a sort of half book. The Selection is a three series book about America Singer and her participation in The Selection. This is a look at Prince Maxon and allows you to get to know him a little more.

Go behind the scenes of the competition with this story from the point of view of Prince Maxon.

Before America Singer was chosen to compete in the Selection, there was another girl in Prince Maxon’s life . . . . In The Prince, follow Prince Maxon through the week leading up to the beginning of the Selection—and the day he first meets America.

If you are reading The Selection series, you will want to pick this one up. A lot of time authors push out fillers that are just an obvious attempt at trying to squeeze every dime out of a series but this is the rare exception. This really is a very insightful short story about Prince Maxon that really sort of helps you understand him in a way that you don’t get from the other three books in the series.

The only bad thing I can say about this book is that it is a very short read and something like this would normally be $.99 but for some reason that publisher for this entire series has vastly overpriced the ebooks (all of them in this series) and as a result it’s 3 times more than normal books of this size.

It was a decent read and I would even go as far to say, an integral part of the entire Selection series but not worth more than $.99. This is a short book that you will be done reading in less than an hour.
